I’m Pauline, a Third Culture Kid, and repat, passionate for travel and life abroad. Born in France, when I was only two years old, my parents moved to Ireland, Dublin. That’s when my expat life started!
I grew up in Dublin, where we spent 7 years, and went to an Irish school, the reason behind my brilliant accent. After those childhood years, we made our way to Johannesburg, South Africa, where I went to the French school which welcomed children from over 90 nationalities! Leaving Ireland, and my childhood friends for the unknown was difficult, but excitement took over as soon as we started exploring the beauty of this new country. We then moved back to France, which was a struggle for me to integrate during the teen years and then back off to Japan until I graduated I flew back to France, alone. This is where my expat journey as a young adult starts.
After a few years working in Paris, the itch to move abroad came back and I made the move back to Dublin until the 2020 pandemic hit. Layed off, I decided to move back to Paris, it was suddenly the end of my life abroad. To stay connected to the wonderful international community of expats, and to talk through my repat and reverse culture shock challenges, I started the Meet the Expats Podcast, in which I interview expats from all over the world so they can share their stories, highs and lows and so you can feel less alone in those though moments.
